The opposite effect

Early 2017, I shared stories of prayer with many of you...... overall a good experience, but if you have read Giving already... there were going to be some critics.  I got a call from a very giving soul, John.. a good friend of mine.  He said "Robby, I enjoy the stories, but why are you doing this?  I am a good person... and I guess we are as religious as the next family.... I mean, every time I read a story.... I start feeling like I'm a slacker for not getting the whole family to church or more involved in a charity... or don't pray enough.... come on man.... your making me feel bad!"   

In most cases, we are all like John... he is just open enough to call me and talk about it.  Heck, I am like John as I read stories of how much faith some people have.  The minds of  most people move towards ... I had rather not think about God if it makes me feel bad..... it is just the opposite... very few people after spending time talking to God feel worse. 

 In most cases, God loves just the opposite of what is done on earth.
God loves humility, the people love to boast by their words, actions and possessions. Pride/ego above all.
God loves giving, the people love to be greedy, jealous and discriminate against each other.
God loves respect, the people don't respect themselves.... or anyone else for that matter.
God loves people that suffer for his name, the people run from any kind of suffering... that is for someone else to do.
God loves people who give their problems to him, the people scoff and blame all, including God for their problems
God hates a hypocrite, our country is divided 50%-50%, hypocrisy runs deep on both sides.

This world sets the standards.... it teaches us at a young age to desire wealth, fame, success, money, fancy cars, big homes.  Athletes and movie stars are idolized.  Severe pressure on our youth to conform to these standards... and it is an epidemic of greed, jealousy and hate in this country.  I would say it is fair to say the wealthy don't want to give up their wealth, the poor are jealous and hate the wealthy and the wealthy hate dealing with the poor...... even when the wealthy give to the poor, the poor show them no respect. There are millions of examples to the contrary, but in general.. it is hard to argue my point.
Most countries like this in the past...have not lasted very long.

THERE IS HOPE!  There is an outpouring of hope from this epidemic...if you have read Suffering already... all these people with greed to jealously to hate... all are suffering... and many are seeking God for answers. It is simple, you put God back into the equation... people would put humility, giving and respect first.... some unbelievable things could be solved.

Is it not amazing to see sparks like the Eagles team after winning a Super Bowl and a backup Alabama quarterback named Tua after winning a National Championship give all the glory to their savior Jesus Christ?  How many kids saw that... how many people saw that...... with more of an effect than they will ever know.  Keep your faith... read Peace and Heaven for the reward and what is to come.
